If yours is like my '87 Sentra, there is no trouble code capability, but there are limited diagnostic functions. Sure hope it is NOT actually low oil pressure.Routine and Common Indicators The following symbols are intended to point out routine needs for your vehicle. Be sure and disconnect battery before unplugging the ecu. Maybe my suggestions will give you another idea on solving the problem. Hopefully the genuine Honda part will solve the problem, but I really doubt it. Try cleaning out whatever is inside the connector (perhaps some type of conducting grease or gunk). Perhaps there is something inside the connector that can short out he contacts. You could also try disconnecting that connector (or leave it connected) and, while the engine is running (taking precautions of course of any possible moving parts, etc), have someone in the vehicle and you could jiggle, and move the wire and its harness around to see it the light might flash on. If the light now goes on, it is a short somewhere and not low oil pressure. (course, you would now have no actual warning of low oil pressure). I would think that if you disconnected the connector at the pressure switch and ran the vehicle without it connected, you might find out if there actually is a short somewhere. I guess there could even be an intermittent short between the wires going from the sending unit to the warning light. If it really is low, then you need to find and fix the problem ASAP. If I were you I would either buy a cheap oil pressure sending kit (test, tube type, or electric) or have a shop check it to see if the actual oil pressure is really getting that low or not. I believe that oil pressure switch turns on (closes contact) when the oil pressure it senses is somewhere below 2-4lb of pressure or so. If anyone knows what else to do, I'd love to get feedback. I'll see it on again in another couple months. My usual process is stop, turn off, check oil level. Driving to work this morning, light comes on.

Changed the oil pressure switch twice also. They said if it really did have low oil pressure there would be some other symptom but everything looked good and it ran fine. Next day light came on, I drove in, and they found nothing. Said if it came back on to drive it in and they would look at it. They said everything looked fine, ran fine and they never saw the light come on. I've taken it to my independent Honda shop to have everything checked out. Scared the crap out of me first few times it did it, especially since I was driving 70mph on an interstate. For the past year my oil light comes on at random times and just blinks. I have a similar problem but not with my Ody, with my 95 Accord.
